Trump Praises Elon Musk’s SpaceX Shares Pledge for Children’s Economic Future

US President Donald Trump has expressed gratitude towards SpaceX CEO Elon Musk for his commitment to support American children through the Trump Accounts program. This gesture involves Musk’s plan to donate SpaceX shares to children across the United States, which he announced on social media. By giving one SpaceX share to every child in America next year, Musk aims to empower the younger generation with a stake in the country’s economic future.

The Trump Accounts program, launched on July 4, is designed to assist families in building long-term savings for their children. The initiative includes a government contribution of $1,000 to accounts for children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Additionally, parents and other contributors can deposit up to $5,000 annually, with the funds becoming accessible to beneficiaries when they turn 18.

Musk’s pledge follows a similar commitment from SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell and her husband, who promised to donate shares to over two million children, focusing primarily on those in Central Texas. These efforts collectively aim to provide significant financial opportunities for young Americans.

President Trump’s praise of Musk’s generosity also marks a notable improvement in their relationship, which had been strained due to disagreements over the administration’s tax and spending policies. The public dispute had unfolded on social media, but recent developments signal a move toward reconciliation between the two prominent figures.
